Strategic Vision
ELECTING CANDIDATES
We need to ensure that our elected officials and candidates are advocates for the needs of each part of the Greater Cleveland Community. We do this through town hall meetings, attending city council meetings, ward club meetings as well as having direct conversations with both candidates and elected officials.
YOUTH OUTREACH
Recognizing our unique position to address community concerns and also empower the community to become engaged participants in the Democratic party, our focus is increasing communication between stakeholders, collecting community feedback and planning regular community events. We will be engaging students in high school, middle school, in community centers and in youth development groups.
Leaders IN Action (l.i.A)
Leaders in Action (L.I.A), is our mentoring program designed to develop, train and engage members of the Northeast Ohio Young Black Democrats. Mentors include former and current elected officials, community activists, government officials and educators.
lEADERS IN TRANSISTION (L.I.T)
Leaders in Transition (L.I.T), focus on engaging millennials to get involved in community politics through educational forums, social events and voter registration drives in order to galvanize current membership and attract new members. The L.I.T members work collaboratively with L.I.A in a mentor-mentee relationship.
Become A Member
The Northeast Ohio Young Black Democrats' mission is to mentor, recruit, and empower young African Americans within Ohio's political community, creating a new generation of leaders to advance progressive values. But we need your support. The future of the Democratic Party and democracy itself depends on getting young individuals engaged in the political process. Your support will help us develop programming and trainings to inspire young leaders to think critically about the political process as a way to change their communities.
